Dr. Kyooshyar Karimi
Dr. Karimi was born on December 31, 1968, in Tehran. He was the child of a forbidden marriage between a Jewish woman and a Muslim man in the Islamic country of Iran. In 1994 he graduated from medical school and by 1997 he was the father of two and a published author. In 1998 he was arrested by the intelligence service in Iran for charges that were never explained to him and in 1999 he fled to Turkey, and he eventually arrived in Australia in 2000 under a refugee visa.
Dr Karimi started practicing medicine in 2003, in NSW, and by 2016 he had three books published in English. He is now living in Brisbane and studies linguistics in his spare time.
